Over the past weekend I completed the Restorative Therapeutic Teacher Training lead by Jillian Pransky. Below is a picture of viparita karani (legs up the wall) pose I set up during the final exercise. This pose is an inversion that is great for reversing the effects of gravity and improves blood circulation, brain and lymphatic function. It’s amazing how much freedom of the breath can be achieved with each subtle support of the props.
The most important point to take away from the training is how our body is intelligently designed to heal itself when the condition is set up to initiate the relaxation response. It calms the nervous system and the mind, increases immunity, secrete good hormones for the healing to occur. Namaste!
