Yesterday was the start of my 6-day spring cleanse. It’s an alkaline juice and kundalini yoga cleanse lead by my lovely mentor Kia Miller. She leads the cleanse twice a year in the spring and the fall to utilize the natural cycle of when the body naturally gets into the cleanse mode. This is my 3rd time doing it with her. Each time I do it I make subtle shifts that aligns to me my purpose, reduce my sugar cravings and better portion control. So I’m committed to cleansing twice a year.
Pictured is all what I get to consume each day. 1 shot of E3 live, 2 green juices (I drank one before taking this photo), 1 green juice spiced with apple juice, almond milk with chia seeds and a huge container of avocado cucumber soup (behind the juices next to the orchids). So I’ll be blogging my experience here each day. Cheers to good health.
Day1 – I was so excited to do this since there has been a long gap since the fall one was in August 2012. So got up at 4am in anticipation and went back to sleep. We met at 7am for introduction and kundalini yoga. There were lot of people from the last cleanses so it was good to see familiar faces. The spring cleanse is about detoxing the liver and gall bladder so the kundalini yoga focus on those areas. We do lots of breath of fire and twists. After the yoga, got my juices for the day provided by Euphoria Loves Rawvolution. All organic, cold pressed each morning.
I had to meet some friends for a review session of a muscle testing and release workshop. I was the person getting worked on for the most of the review so when I got home I was exhausted. 1st few days of the cleanse makes me very tired from the detox but this took it to another level. So I slept for 4 hours and didn’t have problem sleeping through the night.
This is the first time the cleanse started on a Sunday so I was very happy that I got to take advantage of that and let myself sleep. Even though I started eating lots of salads for a week to prep for the cleanse, I’ve been eating lot of sugar and carbs especially the month of March with all the birthday celebrations. I’ve also been going 100 miles an hour the last month or so with teaching yoga, working and prepping for taxes so I’ve been lacking sleep for months. So which makes sense as to why I have the same detox symptoms as I usually do on the 1st day. Looking forward to slowing down to tune in to the clarity & insights awaiting for me. I’ll be blogging the day after to give a full report of each day.
